Ron Eady was born
in Toronto, in 1957. His art education began at a secondary school
for the visual arts, continued at Sheridan College in Oakville,
with additional studies at The Ontario College of Art, Toronto.
In 2000 he became
an elected member of The Ontario Society of Artists (O.S.A.)
“In my work, I
like to explore Formations or Forms, whether man made, natural, or
the human form, and how they compete with the forces of nature or
the pressures of everyday life. Either way, they are dealing with
issues, and are represented by forms that are open to
interpretation.
Often, the
inspiration for a painting is based upon reality, whether it is a
person, place or object. I work the surface through a repeated
process of painting, burning and scraping, allowing the work to
evolve and lead me into new directions, until it feels complete.
I become absorbed
in the process of creating the work using the medium of encaustic
(hot wax with pigment). It’s challenging and unpredictable; it can
be very rewarding.”
Ron’s studio /
residence is located just outside Toronto, in Burlington, Ontario.
During the summer months, he often retreats to the Muskoka area,
where he has a studio in the Village of Rosseau.
